The Playhouse Actor’s Studio is designed to mold young actors in a guided, dynamic, studio-style program that is tailored to the needs of each individual student.  PAS offers an open-enrollment program in acting for students 6 – 18 years of age that encourages exploration, while creating the opportunity to see the world through the diverse lens of the performing arts. Contact Danny Mollise at 251-422-5434 to register.

Stage One (ages 6- 10) – This class concentrates on the basics of stage acting – movement, voice, and use of the imagination. Pantomime, improvisation, and a host of creative drama games and exercises give the beginning student a strong grounding in basic acting technique. 3 quarters per year, $160.00 per 10 week quarter. Class meets Mondays from 5:00 – 6:00 pm.

Advanced Acting (ages 13 – 19) – building on the method approach, actors are encouraged to create characters “from the inside out” by using their own sensory and emotional experiences to create truthful, believable characters. Playwrights ranging from Shakespeare to Ibsen to Miller are read, analyzed and their works are used for monologues and scenes in class performance. 3 quarters per year, $160.00 per 10 week quarter. Class meets Thursdays from 5:00 – 6:15 pm.
